Chris, what up man? I have to say something after the above post, even if he was kidding. Your one of the few smart ones who decides to plant your ass at the "Tree" or at camp on the weekends. Sorry to say it but the balls to the wall assholes up in Bham and the TUG on the weekends are too much for anybody who has half a brain. I remember the days when I use to walk around the Lily Pond with my mom and not have to worry about getting hit by some jerk trying to see if his sled will really do "MACH 1". I will not take my little girl for a walk in Bham in the winter on the weekend for that exact reason. Don't get me wrong I think the economic impact is great. But what makes most of the riders come back to the area we love is not only the snow it is the people as well, the people who call places like Bham home. Even though I do not live in Bham anymore I still come home about four times a year for about two weeks at a time, and the one thing I will say is, for the most part everyone is respectful and are out to have a good time, but its the jack asses who come to my, and I will call it "my" back yard just to raise hell at 120mph are the ones who taint the spirit of the love! You know what I mean! I can not give you enough praise on how you always preach being safe. I have seen to many people either loaded up in a chopper at the "Tree" either, bloody, broken bones, just flat out tore up, some not making it to the hospital. I'll never forget the time when I waited on a group of guys and their young sons at the "TREE" who were having lunch. Young boy all between about 7 and 12. They were lauging and talking about the ride over from Stillwater and were just having a fun father son weekend out. They stayed for about a hour and headed back out on the trails. No more than a half hour later someone came in to call for help. Needless to say the same father son group headed to Eatonville only to come up on a couple of guys going wide open in the opposite direction. One of the Dads swerved to miss the head on and was ejected, and killed, leaving behind his son who only got bumps and bruises. You all know what and who I am talking about, hell you may even be one of em! But what it really comes down too there is a time and a place for every thing, and that is exactly why ZMAN, aka snowpro, aka Chris keeps his ass off the sleds on the FREE FOR ALL weekends. Lastly I will say, what it really comes down too is to be aware of your surroundings, use commen sense, and give respect where respect is due, other than that, have some fun and FREAKING RIP IT THE FUCK UP!

alaskaflier...thanks for your support...you got me pegged...I dont ride on weekends...why would I???? to fight the throttle jockeys and increase my chances of injury 10 fold??? I have all week to do some serious riding and take my chances with less maniacs...I will ride sometime sunday morning as I will today..only locally..lake...some back trails and get out before everyone wakes up and gets out....also..with MINOR snow..I do not see any reason to destroy a $9,500.00 snowmobile to smash rocks and drive it thru dirt and mud...D&D....I appreciate your posts....but I would still need to post conditions on saturday and give reports when I was done riding..all my weekend reports come from my friends who ride on weekends...(they work all week-too bad for them)...I dont agree with keeping the throttle hammered and being first across the finish line...I was once your age and though like you...I survided at least 6 crashes where I could have been hurt or even killed...I decided my life was just to important ..so I slowed down...I still ride hard and fast (ONLY WHEN CONDITIONS prevail)....open fields..open trails...on slow days...SLOWING DOWN at all corners....

you see...the problem right now in sledding are the JERKS who do not care about other riders and safety...we have YOUNG children at this site who are friends and ride on weekends....there SAFETY is a GREAT concern...
..I can and will tell you....when and if the time comes that some jerk comes flyin around the corner into my lane...if and when he does smash up/hitting me an my sled... he better pray he gets HURT real bad....because if not...he will be hurting when Im done with him...so take your chance...risk your life...and just hope if and when you crash into some one for RISKING IT ALL... hope it aint into some PYSCHO like me.....

...just how old are you D&D??

            Your 100% right Chris....

I rode the Hill yesturday and because I'm always leading the pack, I'm always first. I'd have to say yesturday was the most near misses I've ever seen. Why do these assholes have to come up over a hill on a blind corner as fast as they can. Were talking inches from contact, as oppose to feet. Why should my life be in danger because someone has to be first to the next bar??

Hey D&D Mountain DUDE, please explain to my children why you took their fathers life, just so you could be first. My point is: You wanna race, do it out on a lake, not on trails that are shared by good smaritans, just wanting to enjoy snowmobiling.........

Heading up in about an hour......

---- the trails, I can handle the rough......

I would rather miss all the calamity, I enjoy calm. Let the snowcross wanna-bes have at it, They can bust themselves up all weekend for all I care. I know a guy that totalled 2 BRAND NEW machines this weekend.

One had 12 miles on it.

Hang-out tonight and ride Monday afternoon. By tuesday the Hill will be quiet, Cops will be gone and I will have it all to myself.

BTW young fellers, You should show respect to your elders as many would wax your ass if needin'!

              No smack, Just fact!

Chris you are 100% correct. AND...if they hit my wife or son....they likely will NOT live to ride another day!
Proudly burning fossil fuels in vast quantities to go FAST, have FUN, and piss off tree huggin' hypocritical LIBERALS!

Socialism is great idea until you run out of OTHER peoples money!

Snowmobiling is not what I do. It is who I AM!

D&D, are you like 10 years old or are you just a middle aged motor head who can't get yourself off with any conventional methods, except for the "Speed factor"? Maybe your just a little quick on the trigger! I am not saying going fast is not ok, and no I am not old, I'm 28, but that is probally ancient compared to your 6 year old mentality. As for the checker or wrecker comment, I have yet to see a tower with a man standing and waving a flag out of it on our trail system. Not to mention I'm sure the non existant victory lane could not wow ESPN enough to bring two of their reporters and satelite truck to put out a live feed bring coverage of you running people off the trails to americas households. It just isn't cool and the ratings would suck! If your speed is so great maybe you need to join a circut. Lastly, yes you are right, stupid riders do choose their own grave, so I hope you have a deposit on your head stone! But stupid riders who go wide open on the trails weekend or no weekend are statisticaly the ones who end up causing somebody elses death. Like I said I am not aginst going fast. So if you are so into SPEED, SPEED, SPEED, go set yourself up a little shanty on a lake and call it home for the winter, there will be a speed track right out your front door!

...first off....D&D...and everyone else...no more of the "F" word...no more of the P---Y word...K???...this isnt that kind of site....

I will make this short and sweet...anyone who threatens the life of other riders by recklessly driving in a hazardous manner or by driving at a fast rate of speed in the incorrect lane, around blind corners, risking the lifes of young children or others is an A-S!

go enter a sno cross race if you want to prove your a racer.!!posts of how I was the first one back or beat my buddy are lame!

...today I rode with 3 kids under 13 years old....you think it would be cool if youcame around a corner racing your buddy and smashed into one of these kids???how would you feel??? what if you killed one of them????

...so when its safe .....SQUEEZE the throttle and race your buddies..when you have NO CLUE where your at or going...SLOW DOWN...especially around corners....

..,if this doesnt work,,,or you dont care about my opinion...then we really dont need to discuss this anymore....
