  • Rode the hill yesterday, conditions as I saw them...

Started yesterday @ 8:30am on Little John Drive--> It was perfect. Small section of Salmon River had not been groomed in the am. Flat Rock Road was mint (perfectly groomed). Heading to Talbots corner, it depended which way you went. Some had been groomed mint, others hadn't been touched. The RR bed was mint. North/South Road had not been groomed and was rough, but not terrible. Sportsman back up towards Highmarket was ok. From there to C'ville was mint, even in the woods coming down the hill. We hadn't seen alot of sleds on the trails, but got to C'ville and there had to have been close to 80 trucks/trailers there. We headed down towards Brantingham which was a bad idea (thin & rough), and went back up to Timberview by the ski hill. From Timberview headed back to Flat Rock and found everyone who had parked at Quick & Easy, but even at this point the trails were still holding up nice. Skipped lunch @ Flat Rock due to the crazy amount of people there and went back down Flat Rock Rd (still nice, but deteriorating) to the end where the groomer was sitting before making 2nd pass back down to Montague Inn. After lunch there, took the trail behind Montague (mint) over to Worth (mint) to Culpepper (good, but not mint). Headed back to Little John and everything was mint from Culpepper back to the truck. Weather was sunny and +/- 35 degrees (guessing on the temp, but it was warm).
